(Some of my sonnets are numbered. Search them on here if you’d like to read the rest!)
If hearts can beat in time, in tune, as one,
And sing the same alluring, gentle song,
Then, eyes, upon the first glimpse of someone,
Can sing a tale as old, a speech as long.
And that is how my heart reacts to you.
It sings a joyful song of instant love.
My eyes knew, first, when you came into view
That you were just the one who I dreamed of.
I’ll spend my whole life working to deserve
A maiden who’s as fair as Sun and Moon.
Forever will I honor you and serve
Until our days elapse—Let’s hope not soon.
And like our singing hearts, our souls elope.
Our lives are filled so suddenly with hope.
