I Am God at play.
Believe nothing I say.
I could, in fact,
Be lying.
There’s really no
Denying.
Once you take Exodus 3:14 out of Hebrew and put it into Greek it becomes “I am the one who is.” So, the true meaning of it is lost. The essence of it is I am, I have been, I will be. I am the idea of existence itself. I was not born. I do not die. And Hebrew readers would have understood that and have been able to translate that idea to people. In the days these texts were first written down Hebrew was the lingua franca across all of Northwest Africa. So Egypt, Kush, in particular what we now think of as Alexandria which was a HUGE cultural center. There’s a reason there were more Hebrews in Alexandria in the days these texts were written. All these texts are African—not West Asian.
