Eternity

Eternity

This is an Analemma, funnily enough. Sounds like an enema that came with directions. It’s the Eternity symbol. The path the Sun makes in the sky over the course of a year.

by Benjamin Stone

I know this is not the best policy but I’ve got several google docs full of poetry that I’ve either not finished, I’m not happy with and want to edit, or I’ve finished and I’m just sandbagging to avoid flooding my blog with poems. I could really crank them out for quite awhile if I consisently posted them. But I have other things to do, and you can’t be here reading all day either.

So, this is a poem I wrote a little while back and I don’t know when exactly but I’m better about this now.

I have to learn how to love more.
I have to forget how to hate.
I’m growing, it seems,
By leaps and by bounds
I just can’t help getting irate.
But not with the Lord—
With only myself.
There’s no one to blame here but me.
And it doesn’t matter how long it takes.
‘Cause I’ve got Eternity.
