A Poem about Worry

Playwright

I wrote this August 19th and I don’t know why I didn’t post it. I just saved it to my google docs as “Playwright.”

Playwright

I’ve got to learn not to worry.
The groceries will get paid for.
Not to be in such a hurry.
God won’t let me starve.
It’s hard to trust in things like this.
Although it shouldn’t be.
It’s just that I spent so many years
In abject misery
Thinking that my destiny

Was written by a playwright
With zero self-control.
A wily little masochist—
My own immortal soul—
