Hunting Fucking Nimrods

A Wild Hare (1940)

A Wild Hare (1940)

What’s up Doc?
It’s me — Bugs.
I’m hunting fucking nimrods.
Who think that they are clever
And they have the upper hand.
But me, I know the secret.
The rifle isn’t loaded.
It’s just a prop to try and scare
Me back into my hole.
But I ain’t fucking biting.
Well, hell… Only this carrot.
‘Cause I’m the goddamn doc here.
Johann Sebastian Bach here.

The reason the word “Nimrod” was inverted (it was used to mean “skilled hunter” colloquially prior) in colloquial use was that Bugs uses it sarcastically to refer to Elmer Fudd in this cartoon.

It’s the same reason “What’s up, Doc?” is used. Clearly this bumbling moron is no doctor.
